    oxy and propane psi ?

I was using my grandpa's torches today and seemed like I was haveing why to much trouble getting it set right. I was thinking of buying a new tip but I want to know if the tanks are set right. I did not even look to see where they are at now becouse I can't remember what the settings should be.

Are you cutting or welding? What is the specific problem you are having? Propane is a bit tough to get lit, I add a slight bit of O2 when start up. ( However don't do this on Acetylene )

For my cutting torch I use 10 Propane and 50 O2. Even at that the pressures are not critical.

thanks 10 and 50 ok. I was thinking it was a little higher on the 02 side. It is just hard to set it up so it would lite and cut good. I lite it on propane than add 02 goes out. lite add more propane and then turn 02 runnig now hit the lever goes out. The only why i could get it to work was messing with both, propane o2 more propane then o2. Everytime I lit it would take atleast 3 times usally more to get it right.

you are using a propane tip, right? the end will be cupped, not flat like an acetylene.

if you are using the correct tip, are you snapping back the flame? (in to the cup)
