    New Project Using The HH187

I have been needing a frame for my tool box at work and thought I would break out the new 187 and give it a try. I will tell you what! It's a sweet machine! Now if I could only do it some justice As soon as I get the casters I'll add the additional frame work and put them on and then paint it up But thought I would share a few pics.

    Mike,
Looks like you're getting the hang of it. That weld in the last pic looks great!

If I may offer a suggestion on your angle iron frames, try a coped joint the next time instead of a miter. Some say it's stronger, but I like it because it's easier to cut and to hold square while welding. I don't have a drawing of what I'm talking about, but a search will turn up many threads where it is mentioned.

Seeing your project reminds me that I have not posted any new pics in a while. I intend to remedy that soon. (but maybe not this week )

If I am going to clean it up anyway I usually use this type of joint, otherwise I just cut 45's and use my angle clamp to make sure it stays 90º.

Yeah I bet you are, I had one of the first HH180's that came out. Shortly after I got it my oldest son wanted to borrow it, I havn't seen it since ... first time he asked when I wanted it back I told him to keep it. He loves it but for me it it was time to move to a MM210 , from everything you guys are saying about the HH187 I should have one just for grins, but right now I am needing a couple or three 120V machines.
