Slightly OT - Interesting way to put inline pics

I just found an interesting way to include pics in the post.

Post them as an attachment first. (This uploads it to the server.)
    Save the post.
Open the thread and click on the attachment to open it.
Copy and paste the address into a reply post with the image tags before and after.

Me too. And it's great, cuz I link to it from anywhere. It sure beats using up bandwidth for my website.

This was just something that I thought was cool for somebody who only posts pics on rare occasion and doesn't want to create another account somewhere else with another password to remember, blah, blah, blah...

Uh, yeah. I didn't even think of using the "Copy shortcut" there. I actually clicked on the shortcut after the original attachment was posted and copied the url from the new window that opened up. Your way is shorter. Thanks.

You know, I just figured out that I'm a little behind the curve on this. That explains why there are so many posts with the pic inline and attached as well. Well, I never said I was the sharpest chipping hammer on the bench.

(Ya know, there must be somebody else out there who didn't realize this, right? Isn't there? There must be!)

Sorry if that came across wrong.
I forget sometimes that there are many among us that don't know how to do this stuff. I was a computer nerd in a former life.

It was your idea to post the tip, and you deserve the credit for it.

Hey, if I can be shown a better way, kudos! You did good! Thanks for showing me the light. If you hadn't posted what you did, I'd still be wondering to myself, "Self, why do - uh, Self, Self, SELF! Why you suppose people feel the need to post pics inline and as an attachment?"

    You crack me up!
Wish you didn't live so far away. I think you and I would get along pretty good. The bar maids would probably have to find new names for us though.

That's a terrific tip --much easier to figure out than uploading a picture to another site and linking to it. I post so seldom that I have to learn again each time, so simpler is better.

I will write out the directions step-by-step and use them next time I have a project to share.
