    Making Christmas decorations?

Is anyone making a Christmas decoration for the yard or whereever? I'm working on an Ice Burg to go under a Polar Bear. I put him over my business sign. This year I needed a better stand for him up there so I got creative I'll post a picture when I have it done.

I've done some outdoor Christmas trees. I'll get pics up as soon as we put them up (maybe today). They are about 6 1/2 feet tall with 300 lights.

Now that I put up the Ice Burg up I don't really like it I'm going to change to rope lights (didn't have much of a selection at our little hardware store) then maybe a person will be able to see the outline of the burg better. Well see.......... I'm hoping

I think I want to get back to the entertainment center I'm building

Last night I had a nightmare about my Ice Burg LOL In my dream some guy drove by with his window down saying did you see that gotty piece of crap! It makes me laugh. I do really still have hope that the rope lights will fix it. Hopefully they will be at the store this morning.

Attached are a few of Christmas related the metal cutout I have made. I draw them on thin metal, hand cut them with my plasma tourch, grind them and then paint them. I usually give then to friends and family members as gifts. I take a piece of 2 x 4 and cut a slit across the top for a base and then stand the cutout up on it. The metal is from panels off and old oven.

Not Christmas but New Year's Eve ball drop...pics

Last year I made a mini New Year's eve Times square Ball drop for a local Club/Bar I bounce at. We are using it again this year. I was on the local news last year because of it too. Go here to see it.

    rebar and strap metal decorations

Heres a couple of things I saw in a mag. I thought the candle holder could be made up with re-bar and the tree could be done with strap from around lumber. The strap is sometimes difficult to work with to keep its shape. Do you think I should try to heat it before bending to shape? The stuff is real springy. I tried to use it once in a scroll bender but it kept popping back out. Took about 20-30 minutes to get the feeling back in the end of my thumb.

I do have a plan to give the Ice burg a lot more dimension for NEXT YEAR I went all out on decorating last year for my family who came to town, I think I burned myself out. I've always decorated but this year the burg didn't turn out on the first try so I said heck with it all........ bought a big blow up grinch and stuck it in the yard LOL just kidding about the grinch but I did decied to take a break this year. Hopefully I will post it next year

all we ever do is a tree for the kids. if we did anything else the only ones that would see it is the cow's. and as our budget barly covers X-Mas gifts for the lil ones no point in wasting any $$ on outside stuff no one will see, we would rather spend it on the lil ones.
i supose if i ever get rich and famuse we will go ahead and do the outside stuff, but for now the kids take priority.
it is nice to drive threw tow and look at all the lights on the houses though. so you guys keep putting them up so my lil ones got something to look at.

I don't have any kids but the ones that drive by have always been motivation for me to decorate. I just remember how special it was to me to see because my parents didn't decorate outside also I suppose because of the same scenario, spending the money on us kids. This year I am very content with taking a breather. That's pretty funny about the cows. I live where skiers are headed up the mountain so I't's always pretty festive in our little town.

This is an indoor tree for the kitchen table center piece. It will be painted silver with some glitter sprinkled on it. The wife found miniture ornaments at the Walmart that hang perfectly on it.
