Any ideas for an unusual cutting torch cart?

I just bought a victor cutting torch and I intend to run it on propane......

Ive already got the 5g propane tank.....the only problem is that it will take a unique solution to get the 5g tank and the oxygen tank on a cart........cleanly.

I am kind of drawing a blank as far as what to do to make it nice......I need to store the whole thing under a shop countertop......this might limit me as far as oxygen tank size.......I dont think an 80 CF tank will fit under there.....at least not standing up properly.

I was thinking of making something with 4 wheels and two levels.....set the lp on the bottom, put the 02 on its own standing up on the rear, and then have a portable table to hold stuff when Im working with it.

Im just generally looking for any idea that might work......

    Thanks!

I don't think your O2 tank has to stand vertical. Others will chime in if this is wrong!

OOH! If so, that changes everything......

Im guessing it shouldnt be operated upside down (condensate) but I dont ever remember hearing about liquid oxygen in chemistry......so I pry can lean it over pretty well........

    Just cheking

Welding OČ is sold as a compressed gas. It takes a cryogenic plant to liquify it, so liquid in the tank will never be a problem. You could run it flat on it's side with no problems. I'd think you could rig up something imaginative with an 80CF OČ cylinder that could roll under a benchtop, but there is alway the possibility of manifolding 2-40CF jugs! That would be a PIA to deal with at fill time, but it may provoke some comments!

If you've got condensate in your oxygen, you've got bigger problems than what will fit under your bench
    Trailblazer 302 * Millermatic 212 * Syncrowave 180SD * X-Treme 12VS Feeder * Spoolmate 3035
Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52 Plasma * Lincoln 175 MIG

Victor Superrange II * Victor Journeyman

What would be condensing inside your oxygen bottle?

    Tank cart.

Neccessity is the mother of invention. No matter how many fantastic ideas our fello weldors/fibrcators give you you still will have to set something up to fit your need. Try sleeping on it a little more and soon you will come up with what you need. This way your creative juices will rise and sooner than later you will have other great ideas. Remember as weldors we are TINKERS. You can figure it out. Let me know BUD.

Funny you mention this.....I just finished it off today.

I spent a few hours poking around online seeing what others had done......kinda came up empty handed, but it did help.

I still need to find a good way to secure the 02 tank to the bottom of the cart....it kinda likes to move around, especially when full.

Ive got pics, but they are over 100 kb per pic.

Its just a cart wide enough to accomodate both tanks.

    torch cart

I had faith in you. Im sure it just took a little more sleep time to figure out what you needed to do. On preventing your tank from moving get a 1/8 thick 1 inch wide metal strip and bend it around the bottom edge of your tank to make a circle. Tach weld the circle to the floor of the cart. Tach it on the outside edge that way the base of the tanks can sit flat on the cart floor. Hope it helps.

My group shop just picked up a square tube die for our Hossfeld Bender. (Bending Square Tube)
I have been waiting for this so I can get a cart made for my O/A rig. I will post pic's when the process is started.
