More questions on Dynasty 200 DX

First, does anyone know if the problems with the Dynasty 200DX have been resolved? (I don't want to buy into problems)

I've pretty much decided on the Dynasty 200DX vs the Synchrowave 200 "Runner", despite the higher cost for the following reasons:
    1) smaller size/weight by a bunch
    2) inverter technology results in lower primary current demand
    3) control over frequency (which I understand the Synchrowave doesn't offer

One more question ... there are 2 "contractor kits" for the Dynasty ... one has a RCCS-14 "fingertip" current control, which apparently attaches to the torch ... the other has a RCFS-14HD footswitch control for the same purpose.

I'd like inputs on which is more convenient/usable/robust ...

    Regards,
    Carl

Not to muddy the waters, but, the Thermal Arc Pro-Wave 185TSW is an inverter AC/DC TIG/Stick with similar capabilities of the 200DX at a VERY competitive price. If you haven’t already checked it out there’s been quite a bit written about it here on the board. A search will get you lots of info on the TA-185.

I wanted to say that but I don't want to sound too much like a TA salesman.

I continue to be amazed at the tolerance level the host company shows regarding promotion of competitive products. Hat's off.

Me, I've had no problems whatsoever with my blue equipment. then again, I use it only on a hobby level.

    carl,
regarding the amp control devices, I have both. The foot control is my favorite (easiest to control- for me), but the finger type is handy in certain situations, when you're out of position. You probably won't be able to use the foot device everywhere you'll want to weld. Picture it like a sort of ball-and-chain you need to drag around your shop (unless you're always working at the same welding station- doubtful). the finger type goes anywhere, but you may find controlling amps with it not as "fluid" as the foot. Don't get the one with the little wheel. The spring-return one should work better for you.

Also, the HD is the heavy-duty version that you can probably save money on if you're a hobbiest and just get the regular RFCS-14. Actually, probably save even more money by not getting the contractor kit and just buying the accessories piecemeal. I got the kit myself, but if I could do it again I'd go the piecemeal route.

    g/l and enjoy!

I mostly use the foot control at the table, I don't like any on the finger controllers I have tried but I do use the button remote whenever I need to get away from the weld table. I don't know about using it with the D200DX, but it sure works great with the TA.
