Question I know it's not an Ellis #1600.....but!!!!

Got the new Enco master catalog yesterday, looking at it last night and found this http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRIT?PMAKA=137-3200. Total price of the saw truck freight and the whole ball of wax is almost to the penny $1,000.00 cheaper than the Ellis #1600 Do any of you guys or galz have one of these are know anything about them. I know it's not made in the USA but when your retired and have to live within a budget you do what ya have to do!!!!!

    TIA,
    danny

If you want it I got it
If I ain't got it I can get it
If I can't get it I can make it
And if I can't make it then you don't need it

If you can live without the swivel head, the fixed head is on sale:

Enco equipment, especially those machines over $1000, works pretty well. You'll still have to fiddle, fuss, and fix the things that aren't quite perfect, but that should be a really nice saw for the home shop or small commercial shop.

My friends give me a hard time about my Enco Mill/Drill, but it makes just as much money as a Bridgeport for way less expense

That saw will probably suit your needs just fine and as they say, a grand is a grand. I would NOT, however, buy the one where the head does not swivel. It is an absolute exercise in frustration (IMHO) trying to miter on the stationary head model.

For what it's worth I have a version that is identical in picture to the Enco #137-3190. Search either here or Miller for Craftex 7x12 if interested in a review. Few months later, still happy with it. I agree with KB Fab that the swivel head saves a lot of playing around. That model wasn't available locally when I got mine.
