Heavy duty toilet paper roll holder

Here is project I made to kid-proof the toilet paper mounting issues (loosened brackets, etc.) my kids have with the sheet rock mounted models. The project involved all the disciplines of garage metalwork: cutting, bending, drilling, grinding, and welding:

    ModestoWelder,
You can actually get your kids to put the roll on the hanger?

    Nice little project

Only someone here would come up with that. You might even fit in over at Shop Floor Talk.

I actually saw a discussion once on Dear Abby or one of those on the correct way to put the paper on - free end to the outside vs. against the wall. At that point, I knew that our society was doomed, especially because Abby was wrong.

A buddy's grandpa used to flatten the roll, so that when you'd give a tug, only a couple of squares would come off at one time. Depression era frugality? You bet!

Nice job on that. I made a paper towel holder made to industrial specifications out of steel instead of the standard plastic junk.

I'd hate to think how bad your wife cooks if you need something like that to keep them from breaking it off when they're trying to push. lol

Is the end plate on that a washer that's been filled in?
