    New Welder

I've always been a stick welder at heart; I've used MIGs, but I keep going back to stick. Everyone always says get an AC/DC machine. Well as my signature now shows, I just picked up a Stickmate LX AC/DC. Boy does it weld sweet! I kept getting the Harbor Freight 20% off one of anything and according to the manager at my local store, I got the last one Harbor Freight had in stock in North America. And obviously, I've already powered it up and cut some practice welds.

I agree TJJ...when its time to get it done without all of the finickyness of wire feed SMAW jams it...providing you have the ventilation and the skill.

That Stickmate is a very nice machine, if I had the amperage (limited to 30 amps) I would have one also. As it is f I need to stick something I do it with my Maxstar, I am sure you will enjoy many years using it.
