    looking for info

I was wondering if there is a chart (like the one you would find inside a mig) that i could use for my tig stating settings for different materials? i have a miller 180 sd and have a hard time setting it up.

    Also...what setup (tungsten/rod/heat/ect) would u use on a 180 sd for welding sheetmetal...like 20 to 16 ga?

My 180 came with a little slide chart that shows common settings for various materials and joint configurations. If you didn't get one with yours you can buy it from Miller for $1.50 at http://www.millerwelds.com/education/tools/#calculators

Thats a good idea and while you are ordering it might be good to step up and get the SMAW & MIG calculators along with the GTAW, comes in a nice little pouch for under $5.00 if I remember right. I keep my Lincoln GTAW slide calculator (ordered from the Lincoln site) in there also and they don't even fight. Also in the GTAW book thats in the Miller education package for $25.00 there are charts in the back of the book for most metals, positions, & such. Lincoln also has a good GTAW book that available on their website, the Miller & the Lincoln calculators and books are a bit different as far as what settings to use, but usefull information just the same, and I generally need all the help I can get.
