    diameter of c25 tanks?

    Howdy -

I'm just getting rolling (pun not originally intended) on my cart that will hold my HH180 and Cutmaster 38... and a tank of inert gas. I currently have a 80 cu ft tank, but would like to size the tank pad for the next size up (120?) just in case I start welding more than I currently intend. I don't have easy access to tanks around here, so I'm not sure if the 120 is just taller, or is a larger diameter as well. Can anybody give me a hand?

I LOVE all the pictures of the cart projects on here. I have a whole gallery of them now, and will pick and choose the parts I like the best for each. I'm starting with a hand truck that can roll on its back - seems to be about the right length and width, and the price was right!

Thanks. And I promise pictures when this thing is done! I'm currently in a quandry -I need to build a welding table to make building the cart easier, but of course I need to build the cart to make building the table easier. Mostly though, I just bought the welder and the cutter so that I *could* build a cart for my welder and cutter. OK, I'll stop. Now I'm even confusing myself.

A 125 is 7" in diameter and 43" tall if that helps you any.

It sure does, thanks Tony. Is 125 the next nominal size up from my 80?

It is in Houston. 122-125 is what I see mentioned.

    S-10,

Is the bottle sitting on the floor or just partially on the piece of angle iron? If so, the bottom of the bottle is rounded, how well does it sit on the angle iron?

    Darell,

If you're gonna spend the money to upsize, go to 154CF. Only a couple of more dollars, the fill cost is the same, and the tank diameter is the same as the 80CF. Where are you shopping? Airgas prices are OK; MJB in Chico and Oroville are about the same. I buy from Hust Bros. in Marysville, but Mike takes care of me, so I pay a little more (or less, sometimes!).

If I were you, I wouldn't make it "limiting" as far as what size tank you can go with. You might realize one day that you want more tank. That was my case. I'll attach some pics of a dual tray for my MM210. One tank is 140cf and the other is 330cf

    gde,

Is that not the dual cylinder rack that comes with the MM210 package?

I REALLY like your top mount caddy. I've found the built-in holders to be inconvenient when switching from the MIG gun to the 3035. Can you open the drive door with that in place? What sort of mounting does it have to protect the machine's surface? Don't have any expanded metal in the scrap pile, but even I can afford a litte of that stuff!

Yeah, that's a good thought, certainly. My plan was to basically have a bumper around everything though - so the cart hits first... whatever it is I'm running into.
