    What size Circuit Breaker?

    What size Circuitbreaker is reccomended for a 235 amp ac stick welder?
    Also what size wire for circuit?

    50 amp breaker.

    A 50 amp normal breaker, 40 amp time delay and #10 wire is what is recommended for up to 250 amp welder.

    My welder says the primary amps are 45.5 would it be ok to run it of a 50 amp breaker?

    Yes, these machines are designed to run from 50A circuits. Also we have been recommending 6 wire due to a number of factors that are listed in another thread. If it is only for a welder a number 8 is fine too as long as other types of equipment will not be used on this circuit.
