Legend, we hi-jacked your thread. How much wire are you spitting thru this thing anyway? I would think a 10# spool would go quite a ways and if I was using several spools a month it would make a difference but 1 or 2 would be minimal. Tractor Supply stores have about as good of deals as anywhere, Hobart Weldit products.

Lincoln wire prices at AOC in SA are the lowest I've seen. Once in awhile they even beat TSC. Kinda depends on their mood. You try Harbor Freight?

Thanks for the info.I've been to acetylene oxygen company before a while back.I might have to call them and see what they can offer.I was just trying to beat out the 15-16 dollars I spend on a 2# spool and thats after I use farm exempt!

I visited harbor freight a while back but wasn't too impressed.I think I might consider using a 10# spool.Im sure that will last quite a while for my use.

The real thing adding to the cost is the 2 # spools, any 10# are going to be cheaper. I have never bought 2#. I really dont price wire as it just isnt much of a cost factor for me compared to a lot of other things. My auto parts bill is a 1000 a month sometime and fuel is well,,, so a couple of bucks on wire dont mean squat.

$1000 dollars a month for auto parts? You must not do a whole lot of mechanic work when I spend over $3000 a month for parts! I know a whole bunch of other guys who pay even more money because most likely they are full time mechanics as trade and that's all they do.I do mostly mechanic and welding work.

I am not doing much of other peoples work and that isnt in that figure anyway or does it include major rebuild work, but that is my point exactly, is it really worth the worry of 5 bucks on a roll of wire? Just the savings of going from 2# to 10# will be quite substancial.

yeah that's correct because i would save somewhere from 25 to 30 bucks depending on where i went with buying a 10# spool because 5 2# spools would=10 #'s and that would cost around 75 dollars if i bought 5 2# spools to equal 10 #'s but if i bought just one 10 # spool for 40-50 dollars it would be a lot cheaper so i might just start doing that.i like the idea of paying 4 dollars for 10#'s though!!!
