Here is a must for any fab shop. A cutting table built so that the fire goes into the box, and not on your shoes!

Notice the CP300 MIG. and the Spectrum 3080 in the background. The O/A cutting cart has been around for way before me.

This view shows the pull out drawer for easy cleaning. The side are stainless, but the could be steel, too. The top grate is aluminum, stainless would be better. I just had to use what I could get my hands on at the time. You could make it to have strips of stainless, that you could lift out and replace when they get too burned up.

Here is another shot of the cutting table being used. Notice that it is the same height as the weld table. Real handy as you see it here.

Also I call you attention to the hammer at the left side of the picture. It's a rock or bricklayers hammer. The best I have found for chipping slag off your cuts. It's very hard, and the weight is just right.
This machine cutter we call "the bug"...no, I don't know why. Makes a beautiful cut.

Hello Rocky D ... where is that you work ,in the background it looks just like the Proctor and Gamble Folgersplant in New Orleans ,every thing is labeled ,trash can, phone, door and if you pick something up like a stapler under it will be a sticker that says stapler. I dont live in New Orleans just went there to weld up some process pipes. I live in San Diego County I just wonder why everything is so labled. I do find all of you posts very intresting and look forward to more....JPCWELD

Fancy that! I work at Goodrich Aerospace, (used to be Rohr)in Chula Vista. Yeah, The labeling is all part of Lean Manufacturing a fairly new philosophy in manufacturing in general. The call it "visual Controls" instead of labeling, the idea being that anyone from outside the plant can come into any area, and be able to understand just what is being done there. They spend millions in labels, no lie.
I saw a vise labeled "Vice".
