Hi,
Well I joined a welding class (intro to MIG) and I must say..that having a MIG setup is a huge difference from a fluxcore (in my opinion). So, I want to convert it to MIG...when I have the money!
My welder is a Campbell Hausfeld model WF2000 which is convertible to a MIG setup. From the website (cambellhausfeld.com), it said that I need this kit (part number: WT600400AJ).
This is what the kit inclues: (taken from the CH site) "The WT6004 includes: a gas regulator, pre-set at 30 SCFH, with a CGA-580 Argon, Argon/CO2 fitting, 4’ of gas hose, two hose clamps, a complete 6’ MIG torch with gas valve, a Tweco nozzle and .035” contact tip, and a gas fitting to connect the torch hose to the regulator hose."
looking at the pictures, it is basically a regulator (preset at 30 scfh), a gun with gas valves and some hoses.
Now, here are my questions...I looked at MY torch gun and took off the nozzle and saw that there are holes on the sides of the gun where I think are gas valves does that mean my welder has already been converted to MIG? I do not have the regulators or any of the gas hose though.
And lets say that my Torch has the gas valves already....what do I need to make my welder to a MIG? Do I need to get a regulator and hose lines and a C-25 Tank? and presto...im running MIG already?
Also, regarding the regulator...are ALL the regulators universal or do I have to get specifically from CH? Reason I ask about this is that the regulator is preset to 30scfh and I was hopeing if I can lower that with an adjustable one, cuz I heard once that people turn it down to like 6scfh-15scfh to use less gas so it will last longer (the tank)..hehe.
Ill have to take pics in a few days to show to you people so that it could make more sense...sorry for the LONG post....
any comments are welcome...thank you!
ps: I tried to search it and read the posts and did not find what I was asking..so I made a thread up..
:)
