I know there is hard surface rods for stick welding but is there a hard surface wire for Mig?

HTP makes mig wire for hardfacing, flux cored, down to 0.035 inches. Has anyone ever tried this stuff?

I wonder what the stuff costs for the 10 pound roll?

There are a few company's that make hardsurface wire. Lincoln, Stoody, Postle, Mc Kay to name a few.

What in particular did you want to hardface?
What size MIG welder do you have?

Some wires are open-arc (gasless) and other wires are gas shielded.

CarlT,
If you're like me , it would be nice if these companies would at least give a "suggested retail price " on their products so that guys like us could shop the local suppliers. I personally get tired of looking at man. web pages with NO list of what the product might cost!! Good luck on the wire. If you find a decent wire for hard-facing , post your results or e-mail me at mach4welding@hotmail.com.
