reverse polatity= positive electrode
search for thread 'amp question', chip hayden had a good answer there
apparently the search engine in this forum won't allow the use of a word shorter than 4 letters, therefore, searching 'amp' won't work.
thread dates from 10-08 -02, started by 10FOLD.
I wish I knew how to pull quotes from one thread and paste them to another!

Ed, you can fool the system by searching for arc* or mig* or whatever. I ran into that right away, it worked great!
Good luck!

Ed, I just use the windows clipboard...Ctrl+C for copy, and Ctrl+V for paste. Is that what you're asking?

The way I remember polarity is by thinking of politicians - Senators and Representatives.
REP = Reverse Electrode Positive
SEN = Straight Electrode Negative
Hope this helps.

My method of remembering is a little more morbid than Mowjunk's... RIP and SIN
RIP - Reverse is Positive
SIN - Straight is Negative
Both of those are great ways to remember it! I used a label maker to (semi) permanantly label the polarity switch on my welder to avoid any confusion.
