I have a piece of 1/4" mild steel plate 12" x 17" with a slight warp to it. When laying flat there is a good 1/8" gap in the center. How would you un-warp it? I hate to wack it with a sledge. Was thinking of driving over it with some wooden wedges under the ends? If I wanted to try heating with oxy/acet, which side gets the heat, convex or concave? Whats your thoughts? Thanks

i would use a press to bend it. i wouldnt drive over it but you can use a vehicles weight and a jack in absence of the press. heating is tricky(like anything it takes experience) and depending on how important the piece is it might not be worth learning on.
