the leak is at the end of the tank where the taper down stright in from the 3" hole i really dont want to buy a new intercool at that cost just to have it leak again in a year so if anyone could tell me how to get this fixed that would be great

675 is cheap. A Cat intercooler (ATA) is 4,000.00 dealer cost.

From a practical standpoint. you really don't know where the leak is, how bad it's cracked or if it can be repaired. The first thing I'd do is a dye test to ascertain exactly where the leak is and if it can be repaired or accessed.

Then proceed to plan B.

Having said that, I have a very good friend and fabricator not too far from you (over by Council Bluffs) that probably can do it, if it can be done. He routinely welds die cast aluminum.

When you determine if, it can be repaired, send me a PM and I'll send his name and phone number.

It looks like one of the end tanks will have to be removed to access the crack. If the leak is in the center of the cooler then the outer skin will have to be removed to expose the crack. Then you will be able to find out if it's in a weldable spot.
