Here is an exhaust I made for my brothers truck. He mounted it behind the passenger in the bed. It's 14 - 304 s/s. I made it so the rain flap wasn't visible when open. One question, as you can see the tube I welded got out of round. If it was for a customer I would have tried to round it up better, but it was for a farm truck so I didn't. Does anyone have any tricks to keep this from happening? When I welded it I did 1 1\2" stitches and jumped back and forth on the seam to try and keep it cool. Tig welded.

just a wild though use a 4130 or similar steel ring that wont warp easily with heat from tig and tack and weld with these in place to hold the round ive done something similar for a different project i used 4140 6ID 7in OD1in thick and held round really nicely

Put those or something similar spaced out along the tube is what I assume you're saying. The tube is about 40" long. I didn't mention that earlier although that doesn't really matter. I have in the past tacked discs on the ends to them round and then taken a mallet to "try" and even the rest out. I like the idea of holding it round with the rings. I suppose with thinner s/s you can only do so much.
