View Full Version : Miller spoolgun/Lincoln welder

I want to run a Miller Spoolmatic 30A wire feed gun off of a Lincoln Ranger 9 CC/CV welder. Miller has hook up diagrams for the gun using a Miller welder with a 14 pin connector. A control box and cables are required too. I hesitate to assume that the Lincoln and Miller 14 pin plugs match functionally, I don't want to short anything out.
What is required, both control box and cables, to make this hook up?
Thanks for the help.

HI JOE...........THE WC 115 OR WC115A AND THE 30A SPOOL GUN ARE WHAT YOU WILL NEED. THE AMPHENOL PLUG (YOU INSTALL ON THE WC115 OR WC115A) ONLY HAS 2 PINS IN IT...... THEY ARE CONTACT CLOSURE.........I DON'T KNOW IF THE LINCOLN MACHINE HAS A CONTACTOR IN IT......IF NOT THEN THE 115A...........IF IT DOES THEN THE 115....................THE BOOK TELLS YOU HOW TO CONVERT FOR 24/115 VOLT CLOSURE ON THE CONTACTOR.... THE 30A WILL HOOK UP TO EITHER CONTROL BOX.....NOW THE CORD WITH THE AMPHENOL PLUG ON IT WILL NOT FIT THE LINCOLN. YOU MUST GET THAT PLUG FROM LINCOLN IF YOU HAVE THE AMPHENOL PLUG ON THE LINCOLN..........ANY PROBLEMS GIVE ME A CALL AND I WILL WALK YOU THRU IT.....920-735-4505 AND MY NAME IS ,,,,........ROCK...............SSCOTT@MILLERWELDS. There actually is two ways of doing this.First though, the two pins in The Ranger 9 , 14 pin for trigger closure are C & D . When using a Miller Electric 14 pin plug the wires for trigger closure are in A & B.You can use the WC115 as Rock has stated or you can use a MMPSA with a WC24. The 30A Spoolgun hooks to the 10pin receptacle of the WC24 and the 14 pin plug from the WC24 goes into the MMPSA. The MMPSA gets it's 115v supply from the Ranger's auxillry supply and the two trigger wires in the 14 pin from the MMPSA are put into the Ranger 9's 14 pin C & D for trigger closure. If you have more questions about this drop me an email.......
