I am working on my project truck again. The floor is still the focus, as I wasn't happy with the way it was going before. I want to try to bend a couple of the pieces in my press, but want to figure out if I have the power to do it or not before I construct the dies.

Can somebody calculate the force needed to bend a piece of 16 ga. CRS as shown in the diagram? The OD is 0.125". The offset created will be 0.500". If it's too much, I'll have to make a new apron for my other brake, but I'd rather do this in the press, if I can.

...and the width is...??? (one inch, one foot, two feet, etc.)...'looks like that would make a difference...

Oops, forgot that. I think it'll be about 20" wide, but there should be a way to figure out X lbs/ft2/in. Well, I think so anyway. But, yeah, I think 20". We'll go with that. ;)

Mis-measurement. The offset created is actually 0.375", not 0.500". That makes it a little harder. Now I'm thinking I should be thinking of using my buddies power hammer. I'll have to make some dies, though.
