I have a chance to buy one for 550.00 that only has been used a few time and has been stored in a case. Sounds like a good deal. If I was buying new I would get the larger one but I think this will do what I need. Its the deluxe model. Any advice would be great.
Been saving up plasma and it would be nice to actually get one.

I have that model and am well satisfied with it. I don't work with anything thicker than 1/4" and it has NO problem cutting through that.
They do take some juice to run - all plasma's do. Still using the 115/20 amp plug and need to change it out for 220. My garage isn't wired so I tried to use a monster extension cord running to the house - standard 15 amp wall plug. Not enough. So I use a generator and everything is good.
Highly recommended, especially at that price.

I have a pretty large 220 line ran to the garage (30 amp).

That is a good thing with plasma. They like power and it cheaper to operate too.
The next thing to consider is clean, dry air. Don't scrimp on your filters and water seperator.
Practice will give you a steady hand. One of my first projects was a path light made from a propane tank. The Colorado mountain trails behind my son's place can get dark. This one uses a solar collector, dry-cell battery and a load of LED lights. The J&B logo was just right for Jason and his wife Brenda.. My hand wasn't very steady, but it came OK for it's purpose.

Well he might have sold it. He know said there was someone else coming to look at it. We will see if he still has it tomorrow.

Ok he still emailed me and still has it. It is sure going to be better than using my grinding disk.

Looks good. I wish I could find some larger old tanks to mess with. I figured if I needed to go a bigger plasma down the road, I could sell it for pretty much what I would have in it. I dont think I will need anything larger. Most of what I work with is 1/4"

Well I just got back from driving out to pick it up and couldnt be happier. Its basically brand new. The guy used it to cut off a bumper and that was it. Still has the original tip on the torch. I dont have an air dryer hooked on my airline so I only did a couple cuts to make sure everything worked. Felt bad for the guy. He lost his job at the big 3 and needs the money. This plasma still has the warranty on it.
He kept it in the case which kinked the torch hose in a few spots. One thing Hypertherm could have done better was the box. The plasma is top Notch...

Good for you, Mike.
I'll be upgrading mine in the Spring but plan to keep the 30.
Have fun.
