Hi-

My daughter's HS marching band has a podium made of aluminum. a cross member base with wheels has some cracks/separations in a few of the welds where it meets the steps up to the platform. I need these re-welded. It is a very small job and I would pay for it myself since the school has no budget for this repair or for a new podium. I live in Somers, NY which is in Westchester County, about a hour north of NYC.

Does anyone know a welder or business that could make this Aluminum welding repair for us? If so, please send me contact info so that I can get in touch with them. THANK YOU!

Check with your local welding supply, they always have some special customer they send stuff like that to....:D

B_C, good suggestion. Somersband, use the yellow pages. Or, if you have a local community college with a welding program, call them and ask for assistance. I've had the odd machine shop or school help out with a little machining work or what have you when I helped with the local high school robotics program.

If you don't find anything closer, try Morris county (NJ) technical school in Denville NJ. They are a county trade school and have a welding program (day trades and night adult). Also, try the local AWS chapter (NYC is district 2: http://www.aws.org/w/a/sections/districts/district02.html I don't know which local section is closest to you. The ref for the Morris county tech contact is also on this page)
