I have done some brazing with oxy/acet torch and am looking for a better method with less heat input and a faster production speed. Any words of wisdom on using Silicon-Bronze wire for brazing. Looking for a quick fix for a number of projects. I would be using it to braze a lot of odd stuff that I have little experience or equipment welding such as stainless and cast iron.

Silicon Bronze with a mig works great but you are limited to thin metals. Heavier metals use another filler wire Alum Bronze. You use Argon gas also....Bob

Yup bare wire. 75/25 will work but pure Argon works better...Bob

You read my mind, Pops!:)

Nah, I just glanced at the table of contents. With your imagination, I'm scared to read the book. :D

WARNING: Don't give HOTFOOT too many ideas, or his head will 'splode.

Thanks Guys for the information I had heard of Aluminum Bronze but did not realize it you could run it that hot. It is good to know. We all can learn new things, sometime even those that have a lot of welding time behind them.

Bob, I used MIG silicon bronze in pulsed-spray mode to do the following...hardly thin metal.
