I have a old Hobart Simplified Arc Generator with a Four cylinder Willy's Jeep engine on it. I have the numbers off of it and was wandering if anyone could give me any info on this machine (ex. manuals, schematics, weight, Age)?
200 Amp, 40 Volt, s/n 5CW23325, RPM 1500, Type MB, Specs.1013D
Thank you to all!

I haven't had any luck determining the model number or finding a manual either.
Mine has the same spec numbers as yours so we know there's at least two left out there!
Mine is 25218...so if the serials are incremenal that would make close to 2000 units manufactured between yours and mine and most likely some more built before yours and more after mine.
I did see an old sales brochure on the web that advertises each model & recognised the angled frame in one of the images.
I attached a picture of that page from web brochure below but its pretty small and hard to read.
To see a picture of what this model welder looks like Click here (http://www.cnyara.com/welders/Hobart-5CW/index.html)hope someone can recognize it & provide a little info!
Thanks- doug

Hey, Thanks for the picture. I have been waiting for some info to another thread I posted a few weeks ago. I have seen other threads where people found the date of manufacture and where it shipped but I can't remember who answered them. The link you supplied with pictures has the exact same machine as mine.
Thanks again,
Gene

Your unit was built and shipped to PA on Aug. 31, 1948
I do not have a manual on the machine, the file card on the machine was in such bad shape that the micro fish is virtually unreadable
