..a future car...or plane..or?? to me! I picked this up for a whopping $5.00 in my "Resource Cruisin'". The cast iron elements are all fully rotted out, as well as the drip pan (an easy replacement) but everything else is intact. The replacement burners are $30.00 each...but I don't need another grill...the "Aussie Grille" I rescued under the same circumstances has been serving me well for the past two years (I just had to drill out those burners)...I got to lookin' at the nice louvers, and how its really just a bunch of sheet stainless bolted together...and maybe that base would make anice shop cabinet...(as if I had room!!).

At this point I'm thinkin' another little car...like these guys...but all stainless!:D

This one was a Truck Muffler...

Hotfoot,

You are the master at bringing home the metal!:D

I always enjoy the pics of the stuff you've made.

Hey, Tank Sarge...Did I ever tell you I used to be a driver for am M48? (Also bow gunner and loader). It was in the NY National Guard back in the 50's. Trained at Camp Drum. I was all of 17 , and thought it all quite cool!! Later, while in the USAF, their policy was I was licensed to drive anything if I had been already licensed for a heavier vehicle...my "Tank Driver" designation on my papers pretty much qualified me to operate anything on the base!:p

I'm just dropping by to put down my electrodes and salute you after seeing these pix you posted. You're really good !

Gee... I don't ever expect to get to your level, because I'm just a hobbyist/functional welder. (If it holds together, it's what I need at the moment.) I'd really like to have your imagination though !

By the way, I'm right down the road in Seguin, or just East of it by 5 miles of 123.

Congratulations on your Talent !

Cool I also crewed on M48s, M60s, and 551s.

As I recall the old M48s had the accelerator on the left and brake on the right, was a bear to stop anywhere near quickly.

Quick enough to knock your teeth out if you were half out the turret hatch when the brakes were hit. Had a Cadillac engine! I'd like to climb down into one today, because everything seems smaller when you "go back", and I can't imagine it being much smaller than I remember!
I'll have to do an "Art Tank" someday!:p
