In my Party Barn Project (http://polarsoft.net/partybarn/) I need a control desk for my computers, sound system, and lighting controls. I wanted to build the metal framework with materials on hand at the time. It also needed to be 10 feet long, 30" high, and be self supporting and mountable to the floor. So, here's what I ended up with:

Mounted in place on the upstairs platform:

Mounted a prefab counter top on:

Cut a hole and installed my lighting control box:

I opted for a three in one switch in addition to the dimmer controls. The first one on the left turns all the dimmers/lights on/off. The second one will control plugs that will be mounted on the top rear of the desk. The third will be for future use...
To the right of the desk is where my custom computer rack will roll into place.

Things are coming together now. If the economy doesn't tank, I might have things functional in a few months...
