Can anyone tell me some info on a Sureweld A-C Arc Welder. Made by National Cylinder Gas Company in Chicago Ill.

Serial # 62-1037 or 62-1D37
Model # 20G

The only thing that I've found is that it is of WWII era and that Miller and Hobart had contracts to build them for NCGC about that time. It's an antique and I'd like to know the year and some history.

Miller doesn't show anything under there serial number chart and Hobart shows nothing either.

Can you post a picture?

My uncle bought a Holup welder, made by NCG, in 1946. I have The Welding Encyclopedia, 1947 edition, and NCG welders are listed. The one my uncle bought (295 amp) is listed in an NCG ad, and is the spitting image of a Miller that is pictured in Miller's ad.

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to get a picture to attach. It's telling me that it's above 100.0 KB and I can't find how to get it smaller. I've tried five times.

If you know how to do this please tell me and I will post a photo.

Thanks again cope

That looks a lot like the Holup (NCG) which I suspect was made by Miller.
