This is for sale in my area, I want to buy it, but, is it a good deal?

I don't know much about Oxy setups so any help would be cool. I want to snatch it up before it goes if it does happen to be a good deal.

Thanks so much! :)

If you have a need for all of it then it could be an ok deal.... but for a cutting and welding rig you could get a decent torch set with regs etc and tanks for around $700 new....keep you eyes out if your not in a hurry.... I have less than $200 in my two set ups with that same victor handle and regs. a 251 CuFt oxy. LP tank and a smaller uniweld torch set.....

I will agree its more than most people need but that is a nice set, its the pro of pro's. Considering the cost of bottles these days it might be a deal.

In fact I say jump on it if you are willing, tips, hoses, regs, 2 cutting heads, circle stuff, another set of regs and you have 2 cutting setups, when I was torch dependent I set one up with LP for cutting with that big head. Someone will buy that if you don't. Lots of stuff there you will never have to go looking for, heating tips, etc. I doubt if you can buy a cutting tip for 20$ anymore, the hose cost 100$. Even a dam striker is 5$ and you got it all.

I vote to pass on this setup. You should be able to find tons of used name brand O/A stuff including tanks for $350 or less. Keep on looking as also check out the hock shops and auctions also. I've bought several outfits in this price range or less.

Are the regs dual stage on this one? Not that it might matter much. Here is my reasoning. A set of bottles can run what, near 500 and that leaves near 500 for a complete journeyman set. The original poster said, I want to buy it. I agree that one could power shop and put a working set together for less or even buy a fair setup new for 250 for the torches or so + still has to come up with bottles. It wouldn't be a set in this class or as extensive or as widely used in industry as this one, it would be Ranger class which is fine but for the 250 in difference (including the effort taken by the owner to assemble this set), the one stop shop cost of acquisition, etc I might be tempted to look at this even for a grand, probably part it out on ebay and make money or at least even. That is a nicely preserved real working collection of the best they make.

From what You've told us ,This is not the direction You're heading in. Plasma is an affordable way for yard Art. Gas expense will hurt You. Listen to Hot foots advice. You said You had a $2000 budget

Yeah, I passed on the Oxy Setups. I did some research and realized the whole gas bit would be a hassle and for me since I don't have a truck, the plasma is more portable as well.

You can get a better deal just look around. Oxyacetylene set up is a great thing to have you can cut with it weld with it, you can braze dissimalar metals together as well as soldering.
