I searched but didn't find anything on plasma cutting cast iron. Any heads-up on Dos or Don'ts will be appreciated. Thanks

Steve:
While I can't help with Do"s and Don'ts, since I have no personal experience, you can cut cast iron with plasma, as most commercial plasma cutting operations routinely list it, and it is electrically conductive. (I have also cut it by accident,:o and the result was the same as steel). With the !/4" web problem, if you rotate the torch so that you are cutting through the bottom first, this will help (same as ending any thicker material cut),

Cast will cut same as any other material that will carry a current. Same technique.

Just a little more dross but cleans up well after the cut, if you need precision, do a test cut to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks fellows for the replys - because of the way the webs get involved I think I will be better off band sawing this time.
