Someone is offering me an oxygen bottle for free. Supposed to be a big medical oxygen bottle. Any creative ideas about what to do with it?

Garden gong?

Don't know how big it is, but gong was the first think that came to mind.

A gong is about all I can think of, too. They sound very nice when made from these large cylinders. I usually cut them in to two usable sections, a "Rounded top" (the top of the tank), and a "square top" from the bottom half..like this..

As been stated you can get two gongs out of it.
You can use the bottom with the concave/convex sides as a beating form for anneal shaping of copper or other metals.
Along with saving some of the tank body itself cut in to sections and shapes of appropriate shape and size and weld it to a piece of steel for a home made stake for beating metal on.
You can cut the threaded nipple off the top and fill it in and shape the curve for another form for hammering metal.
You can also use a part of the bottom 6 to 19" tall as a pretty good melting pot for aluminum. You may have to weld ears or lugs or rings on it it it is a full size tank
Weld a post/pipe to the bottom and the safety cap/bonnet to the neck and mount a mail box at the correct height for an heavy duty mail box post. I saw one at a farm that the guy did welding on the side.
If you had two of them, you could open up the safety bonnet more along the sides and convert it to driveway marker lamp posts.
Of course if it an aluminum bottle some options will be limited
6" long half sections can be made into wheels chocks
If you have the time, the plasma cutter and the talent you can all ways cut out floral or lace type patterns in the tank and make a patio light fixture shade.
I have always thought that one of the tanks or a grouping of different sized tanks would make an interesting fountain with the water coming out of a modified valve.
lastly if none of the above appeals to you give it to somebody on the forum that is close or scrap it. tanks are required to have the valve removed and a hole or be cut in two. So they can't be used again.
