A while back someone posted a picture of how he cut tanks in the forum. I tried doing a forum search for that thread, but couldn't find it again.

If memory serves me correctly, the person had a couple rollers from Harbor fright welded in a frame that the tank was held onto somehow and then they had some sort of bracket they welded together to hold an grinder on.

Once the length of the tank was determined and drawn on the tank, the person could just slide the grinder forward and spin tank on the rollers while the grinder cut the tank.

I sorta have an idea how to build it. But I would really like to see that thread/picture(s) again, just to be make sure I've covered all the details.

Thanks,

Jax

It works great! I use one 4 1/2" Dewalt cutting blade per tank. I use a long chain pipe wrench (HF item) around the threaded part of the neck to turn it with some control.:)
