I have not the best quality cutter -- chicago electric inverter cutter. Last time I tried to use it, seems like not enough air coming through -- I have it set at the recc'd 65psi. I opened up the unit, hose is on fine, don't know what else to check, Air is coming out of the torch tip but seemingly weak. Can't detect where an air leack may be. Any ideas??

So, it was working fine on that air setting, and now it won't cut, or does the hiss just sound different to you? the air flow should be very easy to trace down...disconnect and check the input from regulator, then to your on-board regulator (check to make sure it hasn't changed)...disconnect the hose on the other side of it and check air flow, re-connect then make sure your gun snake is properly hooked up at the machine...no kinks or twists. If all is well up to this point, remove your tip and check the flow at the gun.

You might try running your input up to 80 psi, also.

Thanks Hotfoot. I did most of what you said but I will try running it on 80psi. Also, the hose may be kinked. Lesson to me about not working messy, but I admit it might be bogged up. Long hose, small garage. Gonna feel pretty silly if that was the prob but I'll be happily relieved. Will check that this afternoon. Thanks!

change the tip, you may have clogged it, 'specially if you drag cut or pierced/gouged.
