i'm getting the miller spectrum 375...is this enough compressor to run it? i know that in terms of its specifications it's enough, but in practical real-time usage will this one do the job? i'm mostly a hobby/art user, nothing huge.

Don't waste your time with an oilless compressor, let alone one that small for plasma cutting. While it would work for awhile, even if it can make the air, with no real tank volume it will run 100% duty cycle and likely won't last long.
I'd recommend finding yourself something more along these lines as a minimum:

is that the G6260? what's that run on? 115v or 220v? i've looked it up all over the web and no one says what kind of power it runs on.

that one is an EX8300 that runs on 120V, but that's really just an example. Campbell Hausfeld, DeVilbiss, Sears, Speedaire, Quincy, all kinds of companies offer oil-lubricated compressors in 12-20 gallon tank configurations for various prices.
I'm guessing you want to stay small and portable, or I'd recommend even larger compressors.

Although I have not used the Ridgid for a Plasma cutter I did purchase one for mobile work:
1. It is really heavy!!!!!!
2. It would not keep up with an Air Die grinder
Returned it the same day, 'bout busted a nut twice in the same day:eek:
Bummed too as I got it as an open box price/steal

What happened with the 625?
never got it...long story...new story is that i'm moving and finally have a decent-sized shop, so it's time to start gearing up...625 is a lot more than i'll ever need and i don't want to have to get into big compressors, etc. the 375 should suit me fine...
p.s. thanks for finding that thread...good info there, and i couldn't seem to find it.
