Hey,

What do you guys use ? oxy welding glasses, arc helmet ?

Got a TD 39 recently , and not sure if oxy glasses are good enough .

The Arc helmet will be too dark. Many guys use Shade 5..or Sunglasses..but I, and many others just wear safety glasses, and keep the arc hidden below the tip (I drag cut usually). The really bright stuff is going on on the reverse side of the metal you are cutting.:)

Shade 4 or 5 are appropriate. I don't have a plasma cutter, but if I did, I'd be weraing shade 5 2.5 diopter magnifying safety glasses.

You might visit the local welding supply store and pick up a full-face shield with a Shade-5 shield. Easy on the eyes and it keeps the spatter & ricochet sparks out as well. While you're there, get a 3M #8214 respirator so you'll have it when you want to cut stainless or galvanized materials.

cant by new eyes at walmart ...yet.If you could, everything would look a little slanted anyway, 'cause ya know they'd be made in China :D
