Hello,

About 9 months ago bought a used harris O/A cutting torch.
And been hooked on weldin stuff since .
Took 'intro to welding' nite class at local tech school this past winter.
I've been looking at welding web sites for while , I think this one is pretty good.
Few questions?
Is it true miller owns hobart?
My welding instructor was blue all they way.
Why so much hating for lincoln? Shop teach said it was sort of a chevy vs ford thing. And up here it seems to be miller country.

well thats enough ,

see ya

No, Miller does not own Hobart, they are owned by the same parent company. I see ITW was a top stock pick on biz news a week or 2 ago.

Hello,
this is trivial, but...... stopped at Miller tent, at back to 50s ,car show this weekend.(st paul.mn.)a sales Rep said hobart is a 'sister company' and indeed they both have same parent.
They had the miller hot rod pulling a trailer 'trailblazer 302/302' . Seen it on calendars before , now i know its real.
Hobart was well represented at the Northern Tool tent.
Didnt see any body from lincoln electric , what gives?

peace out

Lincoln doesn't have any public domain support groups like the ITW companies.

In the last year, they have become more responsive, and have added some features to the Lincoln Electric website, but I'll lay down good money that bets it's because of the extremely high customer service efforts of Hobart and Miller that has put the screws on 'em.

I don't have anything against red boxes, and Lord knows they've been around a long time and have an excellent quality reputation.

Ford/Chevy is what it is.

Hank

Jimmie, and I talked to the Lincoln rep. this weekend at the Airgas show. No plans for a weld talk type deal for Lincoln. He said let Miller do it. Kind of stupid if you ask me. Pretty good PR for Hobart, etc... Forgot to ask the Esab rep. about it. ;) Probably old school like Lincoln. :D
