I don't know about the Snap On, but I looked at a Miller, with foot control, everything, in excellent condition , for $300.00, and have since seen two more go by on Craigslist for the same price...so don't pay that much for the Snap On...especially without the foot control...shop around!:)

Hi Hotfoot, thanks for the response, where I can find it? I don't live in US, my sister in law lives in Kissimmee, Fla. And she do all the buys for me in your country. That's what I want to buy.

I have two older Lincoln Hi-freq boxes that do not have hook ups for an amptrol. It does have an arc start switch and I have used them for years in the field off of my portable machines for tigging aluminum. They can be tricky, but after you get used to them they will do a pretty good job. The miller HF-251 is a very nice machine, but I believe inorder to use an amptrol to vary amperage while welding it has to be hooked to a machine with a 14 pin plug or atleast that was what I was told.

I wish i could, as I want to pick up a new Lincoln Tig module, for my new engine drive, but right now I have other things I need to upgrade first. Keep an eye out on ebay and craigslist as I see HF units on there all the time that sell cheaply. I have one on my welding truck, and the other is on my trailer that my helper uses. Good luck in your search. You shouldn't have much trouble running across one.
