So, I ran across this article while searching for info on motor mounts for my new car - well, new to me.

http://importnut.net/motormount.htm

So, here's my question...
Does anybody know of a way to make motor mounts like this, but more pliable, like OEM? I'd like to use a technique like this for my project truck, but I don't want (nearly) solid mounts like urethane produces. I thought about leaving voides like an OEM mount has, but I suspect that the urethane is not pliable enough to keep from tearing, so that is probably out. Does anybody have any other materials that would work?

The only mounts I ever fabed from scratch were of the solid variety.
Why not just use a 69-70 vintage SBC mount and just fab the frame bracket.
Or you can fab up something like the 65 HiPo 289 Mustang mount. which is nothing more than an engine bracket and a frame bracket with a replaceable rubber insulator. It was held "together" by a 1/2" bolt that passed through the middle tying the 3 pieces together. I use them in all my SBF Mustang apps and have never had one fail
