View Full Version : Stainless Steel Piping

A while back I did 300+' of 10ga stainless steel drain piping, both 3" and 4" flanged sections. Its tigged and prefabbed in the shop, assembled on site and the final tie in made on site. The piping is flanged for inspection and removeable for plant equipment change outs.

Nice job, Plat,...you say tied in on site...did you have to weld it on site? Did you purge it or no?

yes, in the original job, where the picture where from, I had to do about 10 joints in site the others, about 150 were done in the shop. The drain piping isn't purged, the process piping is purged, but thats all welded no flanges.

I build this part for one of the local inventors here in the bay area...I don't know what he is doing but he pays me good and that's all I care about....

The end plug has to be undercut so an o-ring seal will slide over the weld...
I hate the way it looks but that's what they want....

nice looking work,your welds are much more hi-tech, mine are just a drain piping, I'm jealous.
