Hey Guys,
I've got a pretty bare '75 Chevy B.B. 3/4T Pickup tore down to the bare cab in the shop right now. The big block, power train and axles are all heavy 1T units and we're trying to agree on a design for an 8-1/2' flat bed to go along with the new cab, fenders, doors, hood, etc...
I have searched the threads and haven't come up with any good leads. I need to have a 5th wheel hitch in it, the hide-it type, and would like to integrate some under-bed tool boxes on it too. The hard part is, it needs to look like a unified unit and look good when I'm done with it. (As long as no one looks at my welding!:().
If anyone has any ideas or good places to look, I'd appreciate the help!
TIA

I'm not sure what you mean by unified unit.

Here are a couple of threads just for ideas. Even if they don't fit your needs exactly, you can always modify the design to work for you.

You might also do some searching for photos of welding rigs. They are often based on a flatbed with compartments incorporated.

Otherwise, if you can give a better description of what you're after, we can probably give you some better suggestions.
