This is built for use with a hunting blind. It is easy to put up and take down. The frame is 2'' angle and the leggs and struts are 2'' sq tubing. The cross braces are 1/2 '' conduit. I used 1 3/4'' angle for the stubs on the frame, it makes for a snug fit when sliding the legs on.
The stand is 8' tall and it fits in the bed of my Sierra supercrew. (5' bed)

Hi, Thanks for the information, the tower is awesome. Im trying to build my own at the moment for the hunting season. I am new to welding..

So I have the following done:

6' x 4' frame on 2" angle used with support braces underneath..

What I need:
Basically the tower and the stubs

My Question
What is the process of figuring out the angle to cut the stubs? Is angle Iron sufficient for the frame stubs?
I was thinking in using 2x2 tubing as for the tower? basically any imput would be great !!
Thank you for sharing your project.

"I am new to welding.."

If you "got it" (natural dextrous abillity prone to working metal)
and a mechanical intuition, that's "honest" enuff to reject your
own creations if you can see/feel they don't measure up.....
This could "go Good";)

Some folks just ain't equipt in their being, and will struggle
to get even basic sound welds, or do a build that goes
contrary to laws of force and deformation.
In otherwords one might build a catapult that hurls you into the ambulance.
vg

PS;
More politely I guess, maybe see what kind of welding potencial you have
before making something that needs to be safe ??

Senior member, I am well aware of my welding capabilites, Thank you for your polite quote of your well known expirience and safety concerns. However your snazzy commments provide no useful information regarding my project. The reasons why forums where created was for people to share/ swap ideas between the community. a good way to do research, analysis and recieve positive feedback to ensure you are on the right path.

Your comment offers none of the above, on the contrary they just berate, belittle and offer no insight on the project whatsoever. We all should be well aware of the safety issues before starting any project.

I guess in other polite words, lets say you walk into a bank to get a loan, and you walk up to the banker and ask him about interest rates and all he does is laughs at you because you do not know the going interest rates. You have an expectation that the banker will assist you in explaining all the factors on how a loan works that way you can make the best decision in selecting the correct loan that best suits your needs.

Thank you,
