Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, but the search engine thinks when you say wire, you are asking about wire to use in your welder, and returns a gazillion hits. My regular steel supplier carries rods in 1/4" and larger sizes. I did buy a roll of small diameter wire used for tying rebar at home depot, but I would like something bigger. I found some 11ga cold rolled at one supplier (special order from Georgia Steel) for $1.25/10ft, but you have to order 50 of them. It might take me a long while to use that much up.
Where do you guys buy your smaller wire in sizes such as 1/8" for sculptures, racks etc?

I use 1/8" welding rod. tractor supply carries larger rolls of heavy wire (for bailing hay, I think), that's not expensive.:)

I was thinking of the drop-ceiling wire. Isn't most of that galvanized?
For small, short pieces, we've used some of that insulation retaining wire that's pushed up between studs. Trouble is, it's curved and really, really stiff. Good if you need cheap spring wire.
