That sounds a little long. I had a '97 F150 that the two lights stayed on about one minute after you closed the door. As for the adjustment, mine didn't have one.

Ditto. my '97 F150's rear cargo light stays on a minute. Go to the Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forum and search...its a great Ford Forum!:)

Locking the doors will turn it off immediately, FWIW.

Take a spray can of WD40 and spray into the door latches. I know this sounds dumb, but the switches are behind the door latches and they get dirt and dust in them. Spraying the WD40 cleans the switches so they won't stick.
Try it you'll like it, sure better than paying $500 to have the switches changed. By the way I have 97 F150 and have to do this about every 3 months.

I never timed my F-150, but it stays on a long time, too

I believe its the nature of the beasts when I went through the Ford Truck Assembly plant in Louisville, KY I specifically asked that question and they said that Ford Trucks are supposed to keep the cargo light on after the truck is off for lighted egress as you leave....just what I was told...

"lighted egress"...somehow that don't sound like it came from a southerner.

Ask Ford Dealer. They might be able to change how long light stays on. On my 07 F150 dash switch will turn off dome and map lights.

Kinda indirectly it came from our O.S.H.A classes...

"lighted egress" - Sounds like some rare species of bird.
