I got into hog trapping quite by accident.I own a aluminum welding and fabrication shop in Fla. and a friend of mine who lives in Okeechobee suggested I build a hog trap so he can try it on his property .So I did.
I took Alum channel and pickets and designed and built the most awesome light weight aluminum hog trap youve ever seen.Everybody said why dont you sell them!So I did.You can now find Gaterboys Air-Lite Aluminum Hog Traps on E-bay or log on to www.gaterboy.com to find the "Hilton of Hog Traps''.There just aint none better. So long for now Gaterboy911.

well, great read about a guy here last week in h.i. wanting to make them too. in nc don't have many wild hogs but if you make a illegal mexican trap would have a big demand. sign me up for a dozen.

that was me! i got my mig 140 a couple a days ago, and today my friend traded me his lincoln ac225s for two salt water fishing reels. i'll be shopping around for some cheap steel but for now i think i will be using some bed frames as the frame work for my hog traps. I'll post some pics of the traps and maybe some pics of some critters once its done.

when you catch them i assume you sell them to someone to fatten up a bit and turn in to dinner? have fun with bed rails. just don't try to saw them hard stuff use a abrasive disk to cut. if no chop saw a disk in a circular saw works. also a bit hard to weld so, if weld does not look good don't blame welder.
