Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I read the blog at www.toolmonger.com everyday. They often feature some unique reader's projects.

Try the Miller Electric site for projects. Also Practical Machinist, also Shop Floor Talk. Those should be enough to keep you busy for 10 years or so. Also, get a copy of Lindsay's Technical Books, it's free, but the books they sell are pretty much low cost for the most part. That should take you into retirement. Also, just go to Google and/or Yahoo, and type in metal work projects and see what comes up. There's a wealth of (free) information out there if you do just a little bit of diggin'. Also, try you local library. If you're not sure what to look under, ask a librarian. They'll often walk you to the right section if you ask nicely. Good Luck and have fun.

You should be able to find some projects on the "Stagesmith Metal Links" at:
http://www.stagesmith.com/Metal-links.html
This is a massive compilation by Ernie Leimkuhler of sites associated with metalworking, welding, machinery and other fabrication areas. I think that it was publicized here in the past but newcomers may not be aware of its existence. Some of the links are broken but many still work. You can spend (or waste, as my wife would say :() a lifetime looking through these links. :)

Might have to get a couple more to convert to metal.
