Hi,

I am totally ignorant about fabrication.

That out of the way, I am wondering if the following scenario would be possible.

I would like to have a fabricator attach an aluminum dump insert, designed for a pick up truck bed, to a steel trailer frame.

This would be the insert.

oh and it would still have to dump.

I have a friend that is in trailor sales, and he has sold quite a few dump trailors, both steel dumps and aluminum dumps. These trailors are used by farmers, landscapers, and some people just like to haul stuff. Although I have seen them pulled using a 2" ball hitch, the most common way of towing is a pickup truck with a fifth wheel type hitch. That being said, I don't really think it would be a problem to have one fabricated to your liking.

Thanks,

I would be hauling with a pintle hitch off my F350.

Mainly wondering if an aluminum dump insert designed for a truck bed, like the one in the link, can be adapted to fit a steel trailer frame?

You think yes?

Thanks for reading a newbies post:)

Dump trailers are quite common...why would you want to use a dump insert made for a truck, when you can have a dump trailer that was designed for that job? You can get dump trailers in various sizes...you would be limited to truck size with an insert.
