I've had this cutting outfit for about 35 years now and when I went out to get new cutting tips I find that I can't find them, :( Does anyone know who may handle cutting tips for this rig? I think the model number is:

Look for tips for a Harris torch. Some of the old ones were also made by Rego/Rexarc

Take your cutting attachment and an old tip, if you have one, to your LWS. The current Sears branded O/A stuff looks like Harris, but I have no idea who made their stuff 35 years ago.

I have an old Craftsman OA rig as well. Not much use on it - but that is another story. I asked the welding instructor at the local CC about where to get replacement tips and he recommended http://www.americantorchtip.com/

I have not purchased from them however, they have a LOT of tips shown on their site.

Hi Ohio neighbor. Your LWs should have a match as was already said. I bought a Craftsman set 30 years ago and it was a Harris...Bob

I don't know:confused: if this is going to be the answer to my problem of not being able to just buy a new cutting tip, but I've ordered the adapter and some of the tips for the adapter. the tips that fit I'm told are America tip manufactures Inc. I'm supposed to receive the parts tomorrow so untill then I'll let you know if this works for me! The link I found is below....With the adapter and 3 cutting tips it came to $39.

Bigfoot,

I hope thaty works out for you. It sure doesn't look like a Harris - more like a Victor back end.

If this is the wrong doodad, there are plenty of LWS's in the Vermillion area (Vermillion, Amherst, Elyria, etc.). That's your best bet.

This should be the tip you need.
https://atlweldingsupply.3dcartstores.com/Harris-style-Cutting-Tips-6290_c_440-1.html

Your orig tip should be flat on the backside (harris style) the adaptor you show is a Victor backside on the right and a Harris on the left side which takes the flat Harris tip which you still have to buy to use the adaptor shown...Bob

This is a picture of my old Craftsman cutting tip and how it looks maybe this will help any questions as to what may be able to fit.

I just received my adapter and cutting tips for my old trusty Craftsman torch rig today. Went right out and installed the adapter and screwed on the tip, and wah la it works great. The cutting tips were only $5 a piece.
Having said this I went out to my local WS to get a tank of Oxy, thought I'd take my old Craftsman cutting tip with as I had did just a couple of weeks ago. At that time the clerk wasn't very helpful,:( he tried to sell me a new torch set or at least the torch itself, saying it was outdated and parts were not available.
Well this time there was a different guy waiting on me, who was many more times helpful then the other clown. He said ya I can get new cutting tips for you and opened up a book and there is was pictured, made by American torch tip company. So I ordered a few tips from him, said they would be in about a week or so. $13. a piece for them though. Here is the link for the tips made by American torch tip company http://http://www.precisionproducts.com/oxyfuel/Craftsman.php
Anyway I'm happy :)I don't have to go out and buy new equipment.....
Thanks for everyone's help here, Have a great weekend .....Don

Geeze.... This thread/posting is 5 years old (2008).... It's pushing the patience of the forum pretty hard to just announce you have a e-bay sale in progress....Don't think this is what this forum is about....
