As you can see by my join date, I have been learning things from this form for a long time. Never had anything to contribute. I sell the pigs and put the money into welding supplies. The Kokopellies were Christmas gift for my son-in-law.
My O/A cart was built as soon as I got my HH175 (recon from Tool King) A week after this pic was taken, the wife ask me when I was going to take it down in shop? NO WAY!! IT’S COLD and DIRTY down there!!!:rolleyes:

Very nice cart, Bill...way too nice to get dirty! :D
Are those piggies made from propane tanks? or beer kegs?

Hmmm... one large 20# propane tank would work and then a few of those 1# bottles for a mamma and some pigglets....

Freon jugs. Found out they can’t just be tossed in the dumpster. The A/C service techs return the empty jugs to the refrigeration supply house and pick up new full jug. These jugs are NOT refillable. So….. It’s up to supply house to transport the empty non-reusable jugs to the scrap yard. Scrap yard won’t pay them scrap price because of high cost to process them. So……along comes Bill. “Hi, I see you have some empty Freon jugs out by the loading dock, can we help each other out? I can use them and you won’t have to truck then down the junk yard.” Deal was sealed with handshake.:D
I’ve done 18 pigs and have another 15 jugs ready to go.

Oh, bookends. Got it. KoKo-what? I guess I have no culture.
Painted cart. Sheesh. What's with people painting their tools? It's much easier to call something a prototype to hide errors if it's left in bare metal. :D

Mr. Jimi, Yes I use 1” conduit for the legs, got 100+ ft for free! The nose is made from a 1 ½ “ slice of 2” pipe with a cap cut out in the shape of the nose. The nose is about ¾ “
bigger than the pipe. The ears are cut out flat with plasma; paint is burned off while heating, Hammer to shape on anvil. The tail is ¼” rod heated red. End stuck in a hole in a 1” pipe, keep the heat going and wrap around the pipe. Next, cut with pota-ban or cutoff wheel. Cut each wrap on the top of the pipe, separate and you have one pigtail per rap.
I spend a lot of time cleaning up all sharp edges to keep the pigs “kid safe”. Started this by making a pig for my granddaughter and got requests for more. Only material I have to buy is the paint….”Ask and you shall receive”.:)

Hey Bill, "The tail is ¼” rod heated red. End stuck in a hole in a 1” pipe, keep the heat going and wrap around the pipe.". That's how I used to do that, but now I simply "stretch" the 1/4" around it with a 2 foot length of small (3/8"??) ID water pipe. Weld aflat on the pipe tail to hold it in a vise. Works slick, and I don't have to screw with my O/A torch for such a small task. I stated doing this with some 3/8" or 1/2" round stock, using the tail of one of my vises.
In this picture I was making a hanging ring for one of my first gongs, but now I just slice "rings" off car coil springs. I beat the rod with the hammer as I turned the piece of water pipe. Today I would just have apiece of smaller water pipe over the rod (the Stretch!).

I have a large water heater i was just wondering what to do with. I just picked up 6 freon tanks. I showed my daughter this picture and when she seen the water heater she said "Hey! Mama pig".
So I'm going to make 6 little pigs and 1 large pig. It will be hilarious!

BD1,
The nuts came off some 5/8” all-thread. I use .023 wire with my HH 175 turned all the way down. Good luck and be sure to post pictures!

I thought I'd re-post a chrome Pig I made a year or two ago using a Harley Dresser muffler, with handlebar legs, and ears cut from heat shields. This was for a Biker gathering, and got snapped up quick.

I assume you had chromed after you built it...was that expensive? How would that compare to powder coating?

Nope. The muffler, handlebars, and heat shiels were all chrome to start with, and I used either hidden tacks or very small ones "down in the seams". use low heat, andmost of the discoloration wipes off the chrome. I then sprayed it with clear to rust-proof.:)

I just use Rustoleum or Krylon Clear Acrylic. I spray a lot of old painted and rusted 'things' with it, and it puts a nice finish, that deepens the colors, and pulls the piece together. Pieces that were dull and chalky come to life...like this old Spiderman Bike, which was dull and pretty flat looking. I sprayed it all with clear and really perked it up!:)
