Mm175 Worth

I may have a chance to pick up a MM175 with a bottle. I have a MM180, so I don't need the welder, but if I can get a good enough deal on the pair, I could sell the welder and keep the bottle, maybe break even, or better yet, make a little dough. I'm waiting right now to find out how big the bottle is, but if it's a 160 or bigger, I could even get it and trade my 80 on a bigger one, so I could have a pair of big'ens - one for C25 and one for Ar.

Anyway, I don't see any MM175 on Ebay now or in the completed listings, so I don't really know what I could get for it. The MM180s are listed starting at $722, so I would guess a good condition MM175 might bring 500? I know it's worth whatever somebody wants to pay, but I wonder if it's worth it. I suppose if nothing else, I could become more ambidextrous and begin welding with both hands at the same time!:D

Any ideas?

Thanks, Ed. Yeah, it varies by a lot of things. Just a 'feeling it out' sorta thing. Kinda like the how much is scrap type question. If I can get a good feel for what it "oughta" bring, I can work from there. Heck, even if I get it and sell the welder, and end up just getting a good deal on the bottle, it'd be worth it to me. I'll have to get a little more info. The ad says it's only got a few hours on it, so if that's the case, maybe I'll give it to my brother. My dad just bought a HH180 a couple of months before the 187 came out, but my brother doesn't have his own welder. ('Course, truth be told, he really needs some training before he really tries to do much.) Again, just getting some ideas. Thanks!!!

BTW, I did see a Century 170GL listed for $450. Don't know if they'll get that much, but if they do... $$$$$$

Don't need a MM175 or similar and CL has them all over the place:eek:


but it does work some times- got the Plasma for 500.00 bux cause I wasn't lookin' for one- just checked CL and there is was- got lucky as the guy listed it on a WED night and since I work for myself I was able to go Thursday am.

His phone would not stop ringing while I was there:)
